Family and Friends,

This week was super good! Last Monday we had this guy call us out of nowhere and invited us to go get ice cream... So you already know I took that offer. His name was Josh and he is from Michigan. We went to Baskin Robin's. I got myself a cookie dough milkshake... And that was the first ice cream I have had in awhile. But it was really nice of him to do that. He actually served his mission in Rome Italy so it was cool to tell him that Dad served in Milan.

We have been riding the bikes so much! I already get back pain when my hamstrings are tight so this week has been rough. I really hope that I can go to a place that just wrecks my muscles when I get home. That would feel so nice. It is starting to scare me some of the noises my bike makes... Hopefully she can endure to the end. Because it's either her or my knees going first haha. The mission is so great! You are tired and sore all the time, but it is the happiest that I have ever been in my life.

I wanted to share an experience that I had this week while we were tracting... So we were knocking this street where no one was answering. And we were winding down to some of the last doors... We knew that we had gone to that street for a reason so we were thinking one of these last doors would open. Well, someone did answer. So out here in California the Ring systems are super popular. They are doorbells with cameras and a mic. So we rang one of these doorbells and this guy talked to us for a little bit. It's super awkward talking to a camera. He told us to drop our literature into the mailbox and come back. So we will be going back soon! I will keep you updated....

Updates on our investigators:
So Lizzette is doing so good! She is reading the Book of Mormon like crazy. She expressed last time that we talked to her that sometimes it is so hard and she wants to text us and tell us she doesn't want to meet anymore. But then she picks up the Book of Mormon and reads and she just knows that it is true. We have been teaching her for a little bit now so we hope that we can set a date here soon. There are some things right now that have to change before we proceed. Please pray for her and her boyfriend that they both can follow the spiritual prompting that they receive.

Our investigator named Roy is awesome. We met with him this week. It was good to be able to teach him the Restoration and how much God loves him. His perception of God changed during our meeting. The Spirit was definitely able to teach him because he was open and ready to receive the message. He accepted to read the Book of Mormon and when we asked him to pray about it he said that he already knew it was true. He committed to be baptized on March 17. Hopefully we can help him to meet that goal. He is definitely ready.

Speaking of ready... Frankie is doing okay. But he doesn't think he is ready to be baptized. Please pray that Frankie can feel the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We had a conversation with him the other night and it is weighing on my mind. He has so much potential in the church... And he could help so many people that struggle. He still attends church every Sunday and he is very loyal to the church. He just needs to receive a witness.

Please also pray for Mia. She is looking for a job right now so she is very busy. I hope that we can be able to continue teaching her. She committed to be baptized... But we need to meet with her so that she can progress.

Vera told us that she was going to try her best to come to church this week. But we think her anxiety got the best of her. We are just trying to get her a lot of fellowship so that she can progress. She would be ready for baptism if she just attended church. That is the hardest thing on the mission is getting people to church...

Mario came to church though! Please pray for him to have the strength to overcome his habits. We love Mario and want him to progress. We teach him at this super sketchy park every week haha. It's so fun!

Funny story so this lady answered the door when we were knocking. And her husband came around and told her to shut the door... So she did. But here in California everyone has security doors. And this lady shut her door while her little rat dog was in between the real door and the security door. It was soooo bad. I bet she felt real awkward doing that. The worst part was she opened the door after she heard the dog struggling in that small place and asked the dog what was wrong with it.... Shaking my head. It was MESSED up.

Well I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Love,
Elder Willden
